This week's Diva challenge, once again, fits surprisingly well with other art I've been making. The challenge this week is to draw a string "blind." As in, close your eyes and just draw. I did this and then challenged myself to only use tangles that are on my Zentangle temporary tattoo. In this case, I was limited to
Poke Leaf, Flux, Umble, Purk, Pepper, Knightsbridge, and Rick's Paradox. If you've seen any of my work at all, you will know that I'm not a fan of any of these except for
Purk and
Flux. Surprisingly, even though I only spent about 20 minutes on this and used tangles I don't like very much, I do enjoy the result.
The idea of blind string goes very well with some other art I have been experimenting with. I'm not sure these are technically Zentangle, but they are definitely repetitive patterns. Some of them are done without a string at all. Others, I drew a string and then made sure to draw over it to hide it. I did all of these in 3 days. I think I am hooked. It may be time to open an Etsy store. What do you think? Would there be any interest in these?

Your blind string tile is beautiful as is all the other art you posted. As far as the Etsy shop goes, I can't advise you. I've been thinking the same thing, but I don't know what the interest would be.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda.
DeleteBeautiful, prolific work. Especially enjoy your lines and swirls... all of them!
ReplyDeleteYour zentangle turned out great! I had to work a little Purk into mine as well. The swirly art is gorgeous! I don't know much about Etsy shops myself, but I think you should go for it!
ReplyDeleteI love your Zentangle Inspired Artwork! The movement in it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love it when ideas mesh together. All of this work is gorgeous and there is so much of it.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you are enjoying this. Why not open an Etsy shop. Your line work is stunning.
Wow, so much eyecandy! I keep coming back and looking at all the flowing and moving drawings. Love them!
ReplyDeleteYour tile is wonderful and I like that you challenged yourself to use different tangles. I could look at your "twirls and swirls" forever. They are so graceful and I am sure they were relaxing to do. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteYour line work in the botanical tiles has created such a lovely richness to your art! I love the direction your blind string took you!
ReplyDeleteLike what you did with the challenge but really impressed with the other tiles. They all have such a flow to them. I like the use of color in them as well, especially the Coral with color tile. I may have to try something like that just for fun.
ReplyDeleteYour answer to the challenge in great, but the rest ........... I cannot stop looking at it.
ReplyDeleteGosh...all of your tiles are beautiful and everyone else has already said what I wanted to say about your work! Love all of it!
ReplyDeleteBe happy :)

Cris, I'm glad you had fun with the blind string challenge and used patterns that aren't your favorites. I think it's great to force ourselves out of our standard practice. I think your piece is great! I love your swirly pieces. Stunning. They look like they were very relaxing to do too!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so lovley!
