Fortune Teller

I'm baaaack.  Did you miss me?

Last week, Birdie and I were both a sick and when we weren't lying down, we spent all of our time on secret projects for my niece and nephew-to-be.  I can share one of these projects since we gave it to them for their shower last weekend.  These are stefana, traditional Greek Orthodox wedding crowns.  After searching etsy, I was sure we could do just as nice a job. I was pleased with how they turned out, but, more importantly, the bride was also.

Now that this big project is out of the way, I have time for tangling again. This week's Diva challenge is to tangle a "fortune teller."  I decided to alternate between all straight lines and all curved line tangles.  I think it would have looked better if I had chosen to alternate dark, busy tangles with lighter, simpler tangles.  Oh, well, maybe next time.
These are all official tangles, save for Birdie's own Par-K. Do you recognize all of them?

  1. I think this turned out great! I think you have a nice balance of dark and light, fantastic job on the shading. :)

  2. Lovely designs that give a softness and femininity to the challenge!

  3. You zentangle is excellent, but I must rave about the beautiful bead work you did for your niece's wedding. I'm sure she was really thrilled.

  4. A delightful choice of tangles, flowing and light. Diana

  5. Wow! Those wedding crowns are fantastic!:)

  6. I love the shading effect. Very nice.
    Those wedding crowns are beautiful!

  7. Thanks, everyone. I will tell Birdie how much you raved about the beading. It is primarily her work. I was the overall design consultant and sewed the cording to the top and the ribbon on the back. She is so talented. Also, she is 13 and thinks she can do ANYTHING. Sometimes she is disappointed with the results, but she always tries and more often than not, is happy with the results. This is something I need to relearn. I remember being fearless at that age also.

Your comments brighten my day. Thanks.
