Passing the Time

This has been a busy week for us.  Birdie has had 4-hour rehearsals every evening at Ohio State. I decided that since it is 40+ minutes to drive her there,  I would stay and find a way to amuse myself on campus. The first day, I brought a few books and thought the 4 hours would never end.  The next 3 days, I took ran errands and went to a movie.  I thought it might be fun to see "adult" movies.  I learned that I don't like R-rated movies.

Finally, last night, I brought my art supplies.  The time just FLEW by!

Birdie made a rubber stamp of her uncles.  I colored two of them and did pen and ink shading on the third.

I'm not particularly happy with the results, but at least I was happy while I was doing it.

  3. I always carry a few art supplies with me, and am always surprised now that waiting just flies by now. And I always feel that I have accomplished something. :)

  4. Popped in from paint party Friday. It is the process of making art that is just what we need when we do it. So no matter the outcome, create! I really like the effect of the pen, almost looks like a linoleum print. Popped in from paint party Friday

  9. You did a great job with these! They kind of remind me of 1950s-1960s era comic book art. That's a compliment since the artists always put in all the essentials--you could always tell things like people's age and emotions even with the minimal line work. And the coloring you did here really gives it the right finishing touches.

  10. Also: I'm having trouble voting for you in the zentangle category. Could you send me a direct ink to the voting option?

  11. Art supplies are the only thing that saves my sanity during basketball season. It never feels like a wasted day if you have some art to show for the time.
