Tangling the Blues

This week's Diva challenge is again appropriate.  She challenged us to use blue in our tangles.  This is very fitting as a friend of mine passed away unexpectedly over the weekend and I've been feeling blue.  I guess death is never expected, but always seems to catch us by surprise.  We always think there will be more time.  As I was doing my blue tangle last night, I was thinking about Dottie and how much life she had in her.  From a distance, she was your "typical little old lady," white hair, spine bowed with years, not getting around too well.  Then you got up close and looked into her eyes.  She always had a twinkle in her eyes and a smile on her face.  You would never see her without a perfect purple sparkly manicure and clothes to match.  There was just so much life in her that it is hard to believe she will not be playing her tambourine in our choir any more.

Because I was lost in my thoughts and couldn't sleep, I worked on this tangle until the wee hours of the morning.  When I finished, I found that, as expected, my brain was calm enough to sleep.  So, here's my Blue tangle, shaped like a tambourine for Dottie.

  2. Dottie's tambourine is lovely! I'm so sorry for your loss. It's hard when our friends go on before. I know our sorrow is really for us left behind, but the pain is real and our hearts ache. (((hugs)))
